Chiaki Uematsu
Based in Tokyo, I am a First-Class Registered Architect dedicated to the fusion of heritage and sensory innovation. Born in Odawara, and raised in Osaka, Toyama, and Niigata, my diverse upbringing across various regions of Japan has cultivated my deep sensitivity to regional identity and spatial atmosphere.
My architectural expertise is deliberately focused on spaces that require a profound atmospheric touch: authentic Japanese restaurants, bespoke retail shops, holistic wellness retreats, and high-end private villas.
Formerly the Design Chief for the Tokyo 2020 Olympics Nippon Budokan Renovation, my career is built on high-precision structural design. I currently serve as a mentor for the UNDP and an Architectural Advisor for a Canadian-led NPO, bridging international creative vision with rigorous architectural logic.
